Training will include methods to help schools use their limited resources more efficiently, ways school districts can become environmentally and financially sustainable, and strategies on becoming more effective school leaders. ESIPs (Energy Savings Improvement Programs) offer districts the opportunity to substantially improve school facilities and reduce school operating costs without conducting a referendum. But many education leaders don’t know that their districts can capture the benefits of an ESIP multiple ways, including through a “do-it-yourself” method. Roxbury Township School District is undertaking a budget-neutral infrastructure improvement project of approximately $4 million in energy-related capital improvements through the ESIP process, and expects to reduce annual energy costs by about $350,000. This session will feature an in-depth discussion of Roxbury’s project.
