ESIPs (Energy Savings Improvement Programs) offer districts the opportunity to substantially improve school facilities and reduce school operating costs without conducting a referendum. But many education leaders don’t know that their districts can capture the benefits of an ESIP multiple ways, including through a “do-it-yourself” method. Roxbury Township School District is undertaking a budget-neutral infrastructure improvement project of approximately $4 million in energy-related capital improvements through the ESIP process, and expects to reduce annual energy costs by about $350,000. This session will feature an in-depth discussion of Roxbury’s project.
