Self-Organized Learning Environments (SOLEs)

Education in today's global society should focus on teaching students critical thinking and problem-solving skills while training them to effectively collaborate with others. Today’s learners are part of the digital generation and want to be
active participants in their education, not bystanders listening to a lecture. Self-Organized Learning Environments (SOLE), developed by Dr. Sugata Mitra, are child-centered activities that nurture these skills, while encouraging students to ask questions and take ownership of their learning. Session participants will learn about this alternate method of engaging students through the use of technology, self-discovery, collaboration, and social media.
