Learn about a mentoring and Skyping program between special education students and the coaching staff and players of the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League. Although this program is used in an elementary special education classroom, it could easily be adopted to serve general education classes at any level. The program is multidimensional, cross-curricular, and is aimed at enhancing student self-esteem, providing pupils an intergenerational learning experience, and using technology as a vehicle to deliver grade and subject-area curricula. The players participating in the program were personally selected by the Titans coaching staff and are positive role models who will inspire and motivate students. Learn how this program can promote the development of critical thinking, writing, public speaking, presentation and interview skills.
